NOTD: 'Merica

You may or not know, depending on where you live and how globally educated you keep yourself, but today is Election Day 2012 in the United States of America!!
So, to celebrate the good ol' U.S. of A. I decided to paint my nails as festive as possible for my nation.

Take the jump below if you want to see the details!!
I originally saw these nails on Pinterest and, as per usual, have been waiting for the perfect occasion to don this take on the American flag myself.

These nails are surprisingly easy to do (at least they were for me) and took less than 20 minutes to get done. The only real challenge was making the little stars but, as I'm sure you can see, even those didn't have to be perfect and look great from a slight distance regardless.

For my red, white, and blue polishes I stuck with some tried and true colors for me: O.P.I.'s "The Thrill of Brazil", Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear "White On", and Color Club's "INSTA-THIS". The combination of the three is beautiful and quite perfect for this very important day in America (and, depending on who gets voted into office, the world).
If you are an American citizen and of legal voting age, I really hope you take the time to get to your assigned voting station and place your ballot. It is your right that your ancestors fought for, so utilize it!! They would have killed to vote (and are most likely now deceased) so show them some respect and do what they could only dream of!

Did you vote today?
If you live in another country are you following our election?
Do share (though keep your preferences to yourself please; everyone is technically entitled to their own opinion[s])!

xoxo - Cassie

  1. I am following the U.S. elections. Today is election day in my country as well (U.S. Territory) so the atmosphere is very tense and riled up.

Anyways, those nails are super pretty! xx
