If you watched my collective haul video from last week, you may remember me hauling this little beaut of a nail polish.
Don't remember it?
That's fine; you'll have trouble forgetting Nicōle by O.P.I.'s "Pick Of The Glitter" after sifting through this nail p0rn of a blog post.
"Pick Of The Glitter" (which I must say is one of the cutest nail polish names I've stumbled across in a long time) is, to put it simply, a bottle of multicolored and different sized glitters suspended in a clear base. The majority of glitter packed inside is a mix of pencil tip sized round copper sparkles and large hex glitters of teal and brass.
However, there is one more color of hex glitter within this beautiful disco snow globe that snuck past my nail wh0re radar... LIGHT PURPLE.
I didn't notice the purple at all before putting this on my nails but was so happy to see it speckled amongst its glitter brethren during application!
I applied one coat of Urban Outfitter's "Hangover" to my nails before topping with my beloved sparkles just to give them a backdrop to pop against and blend into. Two coats of Nicōle by O.P.I.'s "Pick Of The Glitter" actually looked really pretty but I went with three coats just to give the polish a nearly opaque glitter finish (which was just how I happened to be feeling at the time... though I know I'm going to regret it when I go to remove it haha).
Oh, and by the way: my childhood was calling; I'm glad I picked up the phone.
I was at Target getting some milk, eggs, and a Swiffer Sweeper (ahhh domesticity) and happened to see these cracker stacker Lunchables on sale for a dollar a piece. I must say, apart from my beautiful "Pick Of The Glitter" polish, this was one of the best purchases I've made in a long time :)
Have you tried out Nicōle by O.P.I.'s "Pick Of The Glitter" yet (it's a new-ish Target exclusive polish!)?
Love it? Hate it?
What's your favorite glitter infused polish?
Do share!!
xoxo - Cassie
I remember my lunchables! Ha ha ha! The best part was always dessert >:)
ReplyDeleteOf course it was!! ;) I was a little sad this one didn't come with a Capri Sun though... haha.
DeleteI haven't tried this polish but I'm really into the first polishes by Hard Candy from Walmart. They're cheap and they're beautiful. "Masquerade" is the most unique glitter polish I've ever seen. From following your blog, I think you'd love their line. They have pastels with glitter "sprinkles", shimmers, chunky and fine glitters...lots of choices.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the recommendation!! I never go into Walmart but now I might have a reason to haha...
DeleteHeehee, I love your header photo! My kitty likes to help me blog too ;) That glitter is really incredible! The mix of shades in it is perfect! xo

Aw thanks!! Glad you have a blogging kitty too ;) And I'm glad you like the polish; it's even prettier in person!
DeleteLove that nail polish! I do also love that lunchables!! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Marie!! The polish and lunchable were both delicious haha ;)
DeleteMy favorite part of glitter polishes is how forgiving they are if you miss up. You can smuge a nail and just slap some more glitter on to fix it...LOVE IT. The glitter in that polish is very unique, and pretty.
ReplyDeleteYou are SO right about that. And I'm glad you like the look of this polish! :)
DeleteI live this nails!! Really pretty. Look good. Very awesome.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day, kisses ;*

Thanks so much Miska!! Glad you like ^__^
DeleteWow, what a dense and supremely glittery concoction! I'm a sucker for these types of glitters as you might know ;) It reminds me a bit of OPI The Living Daylights in terms of the colour palette but the glitters are smaller and more concentrated.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it though??? And yup, you and I seem to be two peas in a pod when it comes to our love for glitter polishes haha. This really does look like The Living Daylights in terms of color palette but you're right the actual glitter formula/concoction is very different :)
DeleteI love, love glitter nail polish, but hate, hate trying to get it off.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try not to pick up this fabulous glitter polish. Gonna pretend like I didn't even read your blog ;-)

Hahahah thanks Monica!! Just try not to walk by the Nicole/O.P.I. isle at Target because once this catches your eye... well, you're pretty much doomed ;)
DeleteThat is easily the most festive nail lacquer I have ever seen! I bet it'd be a great pick-me-upper on days when you just feel like crap. :)

Haha thanks Kathy!! It really is and I think it's one of the reasons I love painting my nails glittery/decorated all the time; it's so nice to just look down at your nails to get a smile back on your face... it really is the simple pleasures after all ;)
Deletepretty nails! and omg I used to love those lunch thingies as a kid haha.
