NOTD: Sally Hansen "Innocent Nude"

A quick NOTD post for you all... yay?
The question mark is only there because it's probably the most boring color (as an art student I know that it is indeed a color but to most people this is a non-color [and I completely understand; stick people are people too you know! (what am I talking about???)]) I could show you but this polish is kind-of-sort-of a trusty standby in my collection and I feel the need to show it off to you all at least once (especially for the non-nail painters that follow my blog).

"Innocent Nude" is in the Sally Hansen "Maximum Growth plus" line of polishes and I first picked it up (two or so years ago? And this bottle is still going strong!!) to do just that: make my nails grow plus keep them nice and strong while it's at it!

To those of you who paint your nails often like me (I'm talking 2-4 times a week) you probably know a thing or two about how fragile your nails can become from all of that polishing and removing; chips, cracks, and flakes are no stranger to me when it comes to my naked nails. This is a shame because when I refrain from painting my nails I really do have healthy ones!
So, when I'm feeling extra nice, I try to give my nails a bit of a break by slapping a couple coats of "Innocent Nude" on them. I can still hear them singing HALLELUJAH from when I did them the favor this morning; I hope they return the favor by being ready for a heavy coat of glitter come next week.

Doesn't this give the nails a really classy and polished (distant guttural laugh) look?
I love how it makes my nail beds look pinker and the tips milky. This is definitely my "I work at a job fancy enough to not allow nail polish" nail polish.

Have you tried Sally Hansen's "Innocent Nude"?
Love it? Hate it?
What's your favorite sheer nude polish?
Do share!!

xoxo - Cassie

  2. Oooh, your nails looks so healthy! I really like the polish! Sometimes I want to give my nails a breather but if there's no polish on it I'm bound to bite the nail or cuticle. So to have a polish that makes them look MNBB (My Nails But Better, haha!) and the strengthens them would be awesome to keep in my wittle collection! I don't have any sheer nudes): If I get this one it'll be my one and only, haha!

    1. Aw thanks Jess!! But really, they just LOOK healthy (my nails without the polish tell a very VERY different story...) because of the polish haha. And I know I go absolutely berserk when I don't have polish on my nails; they feel so dehydrated and thin and blech. So you should definitely wed this as your one and only sheer nude polish because it's definitely a keeper!! <333

    1. Sally Hansen really does make some great nail stuff in general :) And yes, it makes the tips look SO much healthier than they actually are haha!

  4. I totally know what you mean by giving your nails a "break" :p (Only to destroy them swiftly with a heap of glitter shortly after.) Sheer polishes are underrated - sometimes the lack of opacity is exactly what you're after. They're great for jelly sandwiches and playing around with layering combinations :)

    1. Hahah good I'm glad I'm not the only one who pampers and then destroys her nails ;) And I agree, a nice sheer polish is something that ever girl should have but I feel like a lot don't!!

  13. Nudes look so good on you, but I refuse to wear anything that's not dark or really bright. Your light colors make me want to try a light color, but I don't know what SEMI light color to try. Any recommendations?

    1. Haha oh boy you're asking a nail polish addict for some recommendations? I could go nuts here... but it really depends on your coloring!! Lighter colors can go all sorts of wrong on different skin colors so we'd have to start there :) Are you similar to my coloring? Lighter? Darker?
