Maybelline Color Tattoo "Rich Mahogany": Swatches + Review

Like a festive nut mix (I could be referring to the snack or the gathering of family... you decide), this post is going to be a bag of mixed feelings.
SOOOOO many feelings.

Can you handle it? Take the jump below!!

Mixed feeling #1: Galileo is a photo-bombing PRO; I don't know if I should be frustrated or impressed.

When Maybelline launched their limited edition Color Tattoos earlier in the season (a mix of bright jewel tones and gorgeous neutrals) I was SO excited since their original line of Color Tattoos lacked any true neutral shades.
I hunted (I'm not kidding... if I could have carried a spear into stores I would have) for Barely Beige for MONTHS (again, I'm not kidding; I was a sad and desperate sight every time I entered a drugstore/Target/grocery store) and never found it. In fact, I found nothing but the atrocious jewel colors and big empty slots where the pretty neutrals once sat.

Alas, I finally found one of the neutrals on sale at Rite Aid a couple of weeks ago for only a couple of dollars!!
Slight joy!

Upon first seeing Rich Mahogany in the pot, it looks like a pretty standard cool toned brown which was a bit upsetting since the name suggests it should be the opposite (the richest of mahoganies are gorgeously deep red browns).
When I swatched it though, I was delighted!! This lived up to it's name in that it is a deeply warm brown with flecks of a red-gold laced throughout.

Sadly, this s** o* a b**** creased on me in under three minutes!! Literally! I put it on, went to take pictures, and my lids looked like an oily mess... and I don't even have oily lids!!! Yarrrrrrrg.

I blended it out for the photos above since I really do love the color on my eyes (anything with a red-tone to it gives my icy green eyes some needed warmth) and wanted to show it off to you guys; it's such an easy color to slap on your lids and go yet still looks like you put a little time and thought into your makeup!!
But time it will take you because you'll have to keep blending out the creases until it completely dries down (which takes awhile)...

Ahhh well, at least I got this on sale.

Did you get your hands on any of the limited edition Color Tattoos?
Did you love them or feel like the formula was a little worse different than the originals?
Do share!!

xoxo - Cassie
