NOTD: Bringing Pinterest to Life!

I have a board on Pinterest devoted solely to nail art; Yes, I am that girl.
But I can't help it, nail art is just so fun and a great way to express yourself! So I decided, to celebrate being able to say T.G.I.F. and hello to the weekend, to take one of my drool-worthy inspirations and make it real life.

Take the jump below to see and read more! :)

essie - case study
O.P.I. - Light My Sapphire

The picture that I came across and fell in love with on Pinterest didn't have a tutorial (nor did it say what nail polishes were used) so I kind of had to figure things out on my own by taking matters into my own hands (#punny)!

I tend to over think things (mainly on tests; I am always 99% sure that the answer is "a" but I second guess myself and circle "b". Then when I get the test back I facepalm and hope it doesn't happen next time [yet it always does... or I suppose DID since I'll never have to take another test in my life which is the weirdest thing to be able to say!!]) so I decided to make things suuuuuuper complicated and tried out that whole water marbling nail effect thing that is all over Youtube/the internet.
However, I quickly figured out that my initial thought of just putting dots of each color (over the dried base coats of essie polish) and swirling them together with a bobby pin was actually the easier, prettier, and overall better method to achieve these nails.

So there you have it!! I'm really happy with the colors I chose (they turned out nearly identical to the colors and design that I found on Pinterest!) and think my nails turned out great; I can't wait to show these off to someone other than my cat hahaha :)

Do you have a Pinterest nail art board?
Done anything creative on your nails lately?
Do share!!
I'm always looking for inspiration!
