10/12 OOTD

I had such a great day yesterday, so I definitely wanted to make sure I shared my outfit with you all! I mentioned in one of my "Thrift Tips" videos (somewhere on my YouTube channel) that I kind of wanted to have an outfit that looked like Shan Yu's from Mulan (which is actually really hard to find a picture of on Google... but here's an action figure of him that shows it off pretty well!); don't ask me why, but I just tend to find the villains in movies unexplainably sexy (I think it's my attraction to fantastic voices) and thus want to mimic their style, regardless of gender (though usually it's a man).

Take the jump to see the details of my Shan Yu inspired outfit!

Lips - Wet 'n Wild "522A" + Maybelline Color Sensational High Shine Gloss "Mirrored Mauve"
Chunky Knit Tassel Sweater - Goodwill
Disco Pants - American Apparel (gift from Santa)
Black Suede Platform Wedges - H&M
Olive and Faux Fur Hooded Jacket - Delia*s (Sale; only $15!!)

My outfit was fairly simple but definitely packed a punch. Plus it was suuuuper comfy to sit around the studio in all day and then looked great for a night out on the town with one of my fellow grad students and her friends from high school!
I had such a fun and fantastic day, despite the slightly bipolar weather, and on top of all that I got to look like one of my favorite villains, Shan Yu (but not overtly so hehe).

Did everyone else have a good start to their weekend on Friday night?
Go out and do anything fun, or snuggled in bed to avoid the weather after a long week?
Any villains tickle your fancy?
Do share!!

xoxo - Cassie

  1. aww you're a cutie! I'm obsessed with anything knitted these days. :) And how cool is it that you are taking inspiration from Mulan? As for villains, does Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries count? He used to be a villain anyway. :)

Kathy: D'awww shucks!! I'm with you; now that it's chilly (cold, even!!) outside I am so happy to bring out all of my knit wear :) Sad to say, I've never seen The Vampire Diaries!! But so long as he's a little scheming, then yes he counts ;)

Lucia: Thank you! Disco pants are definitely worth the hype!! :)
