NYX Glam Shadow Stick 'Pink Ruby': Swatches + Review!!

Hello again!!

Feels strange to post twice in one day (like I used to do last summer when I first got into blogging and couldn't control myself) but alas it cannot be helped for I have a new video up on YouTube!

So really, in all honesty, this doesn't even feel like a post to me... it's just a little nudge in your side to shimmy on over into YouTube-land if you're interested in my Best & Worst of Beauty videos; I feel like I say it every month but I really can't believe January is basically over (though I'm sure glad it is)!

NOTD: Revlon Colorstay 'French Roast'

I feel really bad posting this right after my not-so-great (though apparently hilarious [y'all flatter me]) Revlon Colorstay Foundation review but... well, it is what it is, such is life, etcetera etcetera, so on and so forth.

And, to be honest, this isn't a BAD review of this polish; it just wasn't what I was expecting so it's not going to be as enthusiastic as my typical polish posts!

French Roast had me at "oh hey" (when do I ever say 'hello'?).

The Revlon Colorstay line of polishes is one of my favorite drugstore formulations and the little multicolored (think funfetti) sparkles were the hug turned heart squeezer (lil' tease) for me (and my credit card).

And while the polish itself is as wonderful as its Colorstay polish brethren in formula, the polish itself really was, as I said above, a tease. Even the macro shot above is a teaser since, in real life, you can't see the beautiful sparkles at ALL on the nails.

Aside from that, this is a beautiful brown polish very reminiscent of a Hershey's chocolate bar.

I was just sad since I already own a Hershey brown polish so now I've basically got two of the same color lying around on my nail polish shelf; I wish the glittery goodness showed up on my nails to justify this purchase!!

Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Normal/Dry Skin: Swatches + Review!

The perfect analogy just came to me: this foundation is like Twilight... the Twilight movies, more specifically (though it's really all the same to me). 

You hear so many good things about it and so, though you don't let it show (too much) on the outside, you're secretly really excited to try it out and see what all the fuss is about. Then you find out Edward sparkles, Jacob takes his shirt off more than the Situation in an episode of Jersey Shore, and Bella is... well, Bella is Kristen Stewart ('nuff said).

Why (or more so: how?) did this analogy come to me, you ask? 

Well, there's nothing on TV (first world problems, I know) so I've got some marathon of the Twilight movies playing on FX and I can't stop busting out laughing; I think I bought into the Twilight hype in high school because I wanted to be able to talk to people about it (since that was all anyone talked about at the moment) and because it was/is SO. FUNNY.

the Balm "HOT MAMA!" Blush: Swatches + Review!!

I got this little sample of the Balm's HOT MAMA! in my December Birchbox and, to my now self-loathing, wrote it off pretty quickly as something that "I just [wasn't] sure [if] it'[d] work out on my skin coloring" (ahhh, don't you just love quoting yourself/your own idiocy?).

UGHHHHHH.

I was an absolute idiot for putting off this blush for so long. 

This blush is everything. EVERYTHING.

New Fashion Video Up!!

Something a little different for you all today!!

It was just one of those mornings where I knew I was supposed to be in class but makeup seemed WAY more important; all was well though since I was only an hour late (and I'm fairly positive my prof neither noticed nor cared).

The eye look is wayyyyy more than I ever usually do (I usually stop after one or two shadows) but I'm happy with how it turned out!

Do you ever just wake up one morning and say I need to put on ALL of the makeup?

NOTD: O.P.I. Mojave Mystic Mauve

Another quick 'Nail of the Day' post for you all today; I'm in the process of trying out a couple new products so look forward to something a little more exciting in the near future (I want to be able to give an honest review, you know? None of that biased over-hyped crap that makes me buy half of the cosmetic industry [yes, the whole industry] for my dear readers; use me as your personal try-before-you-buy!!)!

Why did this post just turn into an infomercial for my blog? 

Oy vey...

Onto the actual polish up for show today:

O.P.I.'s Mojave Mystic Mauve is one of my favorite polishes to forget about. 

(Don't worry, I don't get it either.)

It's just one of those polishes that gets buried behind the rest of my brighter, bolder, and sparklier polishes for no reason other than my idiocy.

Mojave Mystic Mauve is such a little stunner; it's a muted grape taupe with silver micro-shimmer laced throughout. Against my skin it's a lovely subtle nude that's got that 'je ne sais quoi' which allows it to stand out compared to all of the pink and beige nudes out there.

NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss: "Beige" + "Sugar Pie" Swatches & Review

I can't believe a month has already flown by since I picked these up in a BOGO sale at ULTA (the same time I nabbed their super disappointing Eye Shadow Base) but I'm finally getting around to doing a proper review of these glosses!

These, especially the shade "Beige", tend to get a LOT of hype in the blogosphere and on YouTube; do they live up to high expectations or were these as much of a let down as NYX's Eye Shadow Base?

NOTD: Color Club "BLUE-MING"

Really really quick post today (WHO AM I???) on my current nail color (ahhh, that sounds more like me)!!

I had gotten BLUE-MING wayyyyy back in my July Birchbox but only just got around to trying it out!! 

I'm not sure if it's just because it's such an intimidating color (it's very bright in person) or if it's merely because I own enough nail polish to last a lifetime (it's probably the latter), but either way I really like the way it looks on my nails!

Like I've experienced with other Color Club polishes, BLUE-MING is incredibly opaque, goes on smoothly, and is extremely resistant to chipping (I can usually get away with 5-7 days of wear before chips start to show up).

So there you have it!! 

If you're into bright nail polishes then this vivid robin's egg green (yes 'green', not blue) would make a perfect addition to your collection. And if not, check out Color Club polishes in general because they really are of fantastic quality :)

My Wet n Wild Lipstick Collection: Swatches + Review!

I don't know if it's because my bank account is emptier now-a-days or because I genuinely love these lipsticks (truth be told, it's probably a combination of both) but I seem to gravitating towards my Wet n Wild lipsticks more than others as of late.

Either way it spawned the making of this blog post so let's get into it, shall we?

NARS Orgasm VS. Super Orgasm: Swatches + Comparison + Review!!

Get ready for a picture heavy post; these two little beauts deserved the full on Glamour Shots treatment (please tell me you remember the days... apparently the first time my mom took me in to get a photo taken [with my already one-time-veteran brother] I spit up all over my Christmas dress when the shoot began hahahah #sorrymom)!!

As I mentioned in my "What I Got For Christmas" video, I was generously gifted (by my lovely and sparkly friend Torey) my first full-sized NARS product: the blush Super Orgasm!

I also received a few mini NARS products/samples with my 500 VIB rewards points at Sephora a couple months ago when they released the NARS perk (which I'm SO happy I nabbed on the first day because by the second day it was gone!!); one of the included minis was the infamous Orgasm blush.

So I figured it would be great to review both of these products as well as do a little comparison; do you need both or will one suffice? More importantly, do NARS blushes live up the the hype?

NOTD: Nude Glitter

I'm such a freaking fraud; this isn't even the nail polish I have on my nails right now.

But alas, life has been extremely stressful lately (work, school, applications, finances... this that and flurp flop floopty doo) and I haven't been able to get the final shots I need to do a review (SPOILER ALERT: NARS) because I'm still sick and my face shows it (eye bags and hormonal zits galore).

So here you go!!
